Supported Platforms

Effective June 1, 2016, these platforms remain supported and will have the most current version of NcFTPd available for download.

  • FreeBSD/x86_64 (64-bit) versions 9.x, 10.x, and 11.x
  • Linux/x86_64 (64-bit) (GNU Libc 2.5+)
  • Mac OS X 10.9+
  • Solaris/Sparc (64-bit) versions 10 and 11
  • Solaris/x86_64 (64-bit) version 10 and 11

Discontinued Platform Support

Support for these platforms has been placed in the "end of life" stage, which means that NcFTPd versions are still available at the FTP site, but may not be the most current version. We encourage you to upgrade your operating system to a more current release, since eventually NcFTPd will not be updated for these platforms.

  • AIX: all previous, current, and future versions, including 3.2, 4.3, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x
  • BSDi BSD/OS: all versions, including 2.1, 3.1, 4.0, and 4.2
  • Digital Unix: all versions, including 3.2 and 4.0
  • FreeBSD: previous versions 2.x 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, 8.x
  • HP-UX: all previous, current, and future versions, including 10.20, 11
  • IRIX: all versions, including 5.3, 6.2, 6.5
  • Linux: any architecture with GNU Libc 2.4 or older
  • Mac OS X: previous versions 10.2-10.8
  • OpenBSD: previous, current, and future versions, including 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x
  • SCO OpenServer 5
  • SCO UnixWare 7.1 and OpenUNIX 8
  • Solaris: previous versions 2.5.1, 2.6, 7, 8, 9
  • SunOS 4
  • Tru64 UNIX: all versions, including 5.1
