u-try-truncated-passwords NcFTPd general.cf file configuration
Don't forget to restart NcFTPd after modifying the general.cf file.

Sometimes your operating system has the ability to support long passwords (those with 9 or more characters), but your system's utilities silently truncate user passwords at the eighth character.

Since NcFTPd must support long passwords, in this case when it tries to validate the password, it may fail because the password had really been truncated when it had been set initially.

Use this option to have NcFTPd try to validate both the long password, and failing that, try to validate the password truncated at the eighth character.
